Sara joined Dwyer Durack's Family Law department as a consultant in August 2007.
Sara originally practiced law in the UK after qualifying in 1983 where she worked in the areas of juvenile crime and family law, including guardian ad litem work in child welfare proceedings up until leaving the UK in 1986.
Between 1986 and 1988 Sara practised in family law, criminal law and litigation in Papua New Guinea including work in both the national and district courts. She also lectured in law on a part time basis for the College of Law in Port Moresby.
On being admitted to practice in Western Australia in 1989, Sara worked in the Family Law departments of Phillips Fox and subsequently Corsers.
From 1993 to 2000 Sara was a partner in the firm of Gibson Tovey & Associates in Rockingham, dealing primarily with Family Law. In 2000 she became consultant with that firm before moving to practice as a consultant in the city with Hammond Worthington where she remained until June 2007.
Sara's areas of interest include children's issues, negotiation in property proceedings and Alternative Dispute Resolution. For many years Sara has represented children and parents in Children's Issues proceedings in the Family Court and has also regularly chaired conferences for the Legal Aid ADR programme. In 2007, she was registered as a Family Dispute Resolution Practitioner and is currently accredited as such. She remains qualified as an Independent Children's Lawyer
