Ross Harrison joined Dwyer Durack in 1991, having been a senior public servant in Western Australia for 18 years. He was admitted to practice in Western Australia in 1993.
Ross became the Managing Partner of Dwyer Durack in 2004 and the Managing Director of Dwyers Legal Pty Ltd in July 2006.
While working in government, Ross was the Director of Parliamentary Services in the Department of Premier and Cabinet, and was closely associated with the preparation of legislation. He was also Director of the Ministry of Consumer Affairs, where he was involved in discussions on the preparation of new Credit legislation, attended meetings of the Standing Committee of Consumer Affairs Ministers and represented Western Australia on a National Working Group reviewing Uniform Credit Legislation.
Ross was also a member of a three person inquiry into aspects of the home building industry in Western Australia and subsequently was Chairman of the Builders Registration Board and the Painters Registration Board of Western Australia.
Ross conducted a review of occupational licensing affecting builders, painters, real estate agents, settlement agents, employment agents, land valuers, motor vehicle dealers and salespersons, credit providers and travel agents whilst at the Ministry of Consumer Affairs.
As a result of his experience, Ross has a detailed knowledge of retail law and legislation relating to Retail Trading Hours, Fair Trading, Trade Practices, Sales of Goods etc.
Ross' practice within Dwyer Durack includes motor vehicle accidents, medical negligence, personal injuries, insurance and superannuation. He has also practised extensively in general commercial litigation, debt recovery, securities and commercial contracts.
