June commenced her law degree as a mature age student in 1996, through an indigenous student alternative entry program - Koora Kudidj at Murdoch University. During her law degree June was awarded the John Koowarta Scholarship and won the Commercial Law prize as well as tutoring other Aboriginal law students in the later years of her degree. June graduated with a Bachelor of Laws (Honours) from Murdoch University in 2000.
In February 2000 June joined Dwyer Durack, and completed her article clerkship and restricted practice years at Dwyer Durack before moving to another law firm for approximately 1 year before returning to Dwyer Durack. June initially worked in commercial law and then widened her area of practice to include commercial litigation.
June is now the Managing Director of Dwyers Legal Pty Ltd trading as Dwyer Durack and heads up the General Litigation and Commercial Law departments at Dwyer Durack. June and her team has experience in in drafting commercial documents and providing advice in relation to all aspects of business law including employment, trust law, property law, defamation and intellectual property.
As well as being Managing Director of Dwyers Legal Pty Ltd June also finds time to be the Convenor of the Law Society of Western Australia’s Aboriginal Lawyers Committee and to be on the panel of Arts Law Australia. She is also a member of the Law Society of Western Australia, Women’s Lawyers Western Australia and the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
