Simon French was admitted in 1976 and was a partner of Dwyer Durack from 1977 until Dwyers Legal Pty Ltd trading as Dwyer Durack was incorporated in July 2006.  Simone was a director of Dwyers Legal Pty Ltd until 30 June 2011.  From 1 July 2011 Simon retired as a director but continues on as a Family Lawyer with Dwyer Durack

During his first 5 years with Dwyer Durack, Simon built a large general practice with particular emphasis on family law. Between 1983 and 1994, he concentrated on the area of personal injury and workers' compensation.

In 1994, Simon decided to accept instructions in family law again, and he now practices in this area. He is a senior practitioner, and has a large general client base.

From 1996 to 1998 Simon was actively involved with the Family Law Practitioners Association of WA, serving as the President in 1998. He continues as a member of the Association.

At the end of 1998 Simon was elected to serve on the Council at the Law Society of WA. He served on this Council in 1999 and 2000. Simon is also a member of the Family Law Section of the Law Council of Australia, and a current member of the Law Society of WA.

Simon was a member of the Legal Aid Commission and for a number of years worked on a voluntary basis on legal aid committees and review committees.

Since 2008 he has been serving as a deputy chairperson of the Case Review Panel at the Department for Child Protection.
